The
botanic garden in Vairano (San Nazzaro) |

|
This magnificent
botanic garden is situated at the Gambarogno-side of the
Lago-Maggiore, on a plain in the hills between Piazzogna and Vairano,.
In this place,
Otto Eisenhut, a patient and talented cultivator of
plants and trees has cultivated thousands of beautiful and colourful flowering plants like 950 types of
camelias, 350 different magnolias,
azaleas, peonies and Rhododendron on a surface of more than 17000
m2.
In addition, here grows also ivy, pines, juniper and other rare
European and exotic coniferous trees.
Since the beginning of the year 2000 the park is led by the donation "
parco botanico del gambarogno ", which is to guarantee the continuity
of this attractive garden with its valuable botanic collection.
Visitors need one hour for the visit to this park, connoisseurs
probably somewhat longer.
